Professional Experience:
Ben Fricke spent the spring of 1999 playing in NFL Europe hoping to catch
the eye of a NFL team, and it worked. He signed with Dallas during training
camp after injuries depleted the Cowboys depth at guard and center. Fricke
stepped in and showed coaches the ability to control blocks at the line
of scrimmage and the versatility to play guard and center. This sort of
flexibility allowed him to contribute along the Cowboys offensive line
in 1999 and should aid in his battle for playing time in 2000. Drafted
in the 7th round of the 1998 NFL Draft by the New York Giants. Played
for the Dallas Cowboys in 1999 and 2000. Fricke played 3 games in 1999
and 8 games in 2000, starting 5.
College Highlights:
Ben Fricke named top center in nation in 1997 by The Sporting News and
part of the 1997 pre-season All-America team.
