Quarterback Chris Miller is a proven veteran who seeks to add experience
and depth to the Broncos? quarterback situation after the retirement of
John Elway. He has played in 95 NFL games (89 starts) and thrown for 18,793
yards and 121 touchdowns, with a career quarterback rating of 74.8. His
regular season record as a starting QB is 32-57. Miller entered the NFL
in 1987 as Atlanta?s No. 1 draft choice (No. 13 overall) and played seven
seasons with the Falcons. He signed with the Rams as an unrestricted free
agent in 1994 and played two seasons with the club. Miller has poosted
nine 300-yard passing games in his career: 3 in 1989, 2 in ?90, 2 in ?91,
1 in ?92, 1 in ?94 and 2 in ?95).
College
Highlights:
Miller broke 13 school records held by NFL greats Dan Fouts, Bob
Berry and Norm Van Brocklin at the University of Oregon. As a senior,
he set school marks for passing yards (2,503), completions (216) completion
percentage (60.7) and total offense (2,549), and became the first Pac-10
quarterback to earn back-to-back first-team all-conference honors since
Jim Plunkett at Stanford in 1969-70. Miller finished his career with 6,681
yards passing, 18 200-yard games, 42 touchdowns and seven rushing scores.
Among his teammates at Oregon was former Broncos great Gary Zimmerman.
